Electrical engineering is all but irrelevant to your field of interest, as is civil engineering (my field).Mechanical engineering is somewhat related.Chemical engineering, however, is definitely your best bet.Chemical engineers are leading the research in renewable energy, as their education and field is pretty much based on the transfer of energy both through mechanical thermodynamics and chemical reactions.Definitely where you need to be.
