Because non renewable energies are in processed form and are easy to use. Their installation are much easier. Think of a diesel power plant for your apartment, which can be bought in compact form and the fuel, diesel, is available at the nearest petrol station. On the other hand if you install a solar power plant for your apartment it would require a lot of planning and money as well as will be subjected to sunshine and such other factors.
